Addiscombe has a strong community feel for somewhere so close to central Croydon. Victorian and Edwardian terraces on a grid of residential streets. The tram runs through, which is handy for getting to East Croydon or Wimbledon. Lower Addiscombe Road has a decent run of local shops, cafes, and takeaways. It's popular with young families who can't quite stretch to South Croydon or Shirley but still want a proper neighbourhood.
