The Croydon side of Crystal Palace has the same hilltop character as the Bromley and Lewisham sides. Crystal Palace Park is the big draw, with the dinosaurs, the sports centre, and actual space to breathe. The triangle of shops and restaurants at the top has become genuinely good over the past decade. Victorian terraces, many of them large, climb the hill on steep streets. The Overground connects to Shoreditch and there's a rail link too. It attracts a creative, slightly alternative crowd alongside families. The views from the top on a clear day are remarkable.
