Pollards Hill is a large council estate that straddles the Croydon/Merton border. It was built in the 1940s and 50s and has a distinctive layout with curving roads and green spaces between the blocks. Some of the housing has been transferred to housing associations. Norbury station is the nearest rail link. It's a tight-knit community, with long-term residents who know their neighbours, but the isolation from main roads and shops can be frustrating.
