South Lake

Part of the Lower Earley development, built around a series of man-made lakes that act as balancing ponds for the estates. The lakes give it more character than you might expect from a 1980s housing estate. South Lake Primary is well-regarded. Shopping means a drive to the Meadway centre or into Reading. It is very much a place designed for families with cars, but the green spaces around the lakes make it feel less hemmed in than similar developments.
