Winchmore Hill

Winchmore Hill has a genuine village green with a war memorial, a pond, and a cluster of shops and restaurants around it. The houses on the surrounding streets are Edwardian and interwar, many large and well-maintained. The Green Lanes shopping parade has a good mix of independents, including some excellent Turkish restaurants and bakeries. Winchmore Hill station (Great Northern) runs to Moorgate. Grovelands Park is shared with Southgate. It's quietly affluent without being showy, and the community spirit is real. People who move here tend to stay.
