Named after the old Empress Ballroom, this is the area around the main Farnborough station and the regenerated town centre. The Meads shopping area and Kingsmead development brought a Vue cinema, restaurants, and some modern apartments. It's the most urban part of Farnborough and the most connected. Older streets have Edwardian terraces that can be good value. The trade-off is road noise and a town centre that still feels like it's finding its feet after redevelopment.
