The bit around the station, the high street, and Fleet Pond. This is where Fleet actually feels like a town rather than a series of cul-de-sacs. The pond is the star attraction, lovely for walks and surprisingly wild for something next to a train station. The high street has a mix of chains and independents, decent enough for a coffee and a browse. Some of the nicest housing in Fleet is here too, Victorian and Edwardian places on the roads near the pond. The station gives you a direct line to Waterloo. Parking at the station is a nightmare during the week, which tells you everything about how commuter-dependent this town is.
