Renhold is a small village just north of the A421 on the eastern outskirts of Bedford. It feels more like a commuter village than Great Barford, partly because Bedford itself is only a couple of miles west. There is a church and a village hall but not much in the way of shops, so you are going into Bedford or to a supermarket for anything practical. Housing is mostly 20th century with some older properties dotted around. It is quiet and leafy but does not have the same sense of a village centre that Great Barford has. Polhill Garden Centre on the edge of the village is probably the best known local landmark.
