Putnoe is a large residential area north of the town centre, developed mainly from the 1950s onwards. The housing is mostly semi-detached and is the kind of solid, unglamorous stock that works well for families who need space. Putnoe Wood is a small nature reserve tucked in among the houses. There is a local shopping parade but it is basic. The area merges into Brickhill to the east. It is reliable rather than exciting, and prices reflect that.
