Castle

Castle ward covers Bedford's town centre and the Castle Mound area along the river. This is where the shops, restaurants, and the Corn Exchange are. The Embankment gardens along the Ouse are the best public space in Bedford and they sit right here. Housing is a real mix, from Victorian terraces to modern flats above shops and some social housing. It is lively during the day and can be noisy on weekend evenings. Not where most families end up but good for people who want to walk to everything.
