SW6 1 / SW6 7 / W14 9
West Kensington is not really Kensington and estate agents have been stretching the name for decades. It's the area around the District line station, with a mix of Edwardian mansion blocks, Victorian terraces, and the large West Kensington and Gibbs Green council estates, which have been the subject of long-running regeneration battles. The Earls Court development site looms next door. North End Road market is a short walk. It's affordable by the standards of the area and well connected (District and Piccadilly lines at Barons Court and West Kensington). Popular with young sharers and people who want a W14 postcode without Kensington prices.
