Old Harlow is the original village that predates the new town by centuries, and it genuinely feels like a different place. There is a proper high street with pubs, a few independents, and a village green. The housing is a mix of older cottages and period properties alongside some newer infill. It has more character than anywhere else in Harlow and people who live here tend to identify with Old Harlow specifically, not Harlow generally. It is the most expensive part of town but still reasonable compared to nearby Bishop's Stortford.
