Hawkwell West

Hawkwell West sits closer to Rayleigh and Hullbridge, with Magnolia Road and the streets off it forming the main residential core. It feels further from everything because Hockley station is a longer walk and there are no shops to speak of within the ward itself. The housing stock is similar to the east side but with more bungalows, popular with older residents who have been here for decades. Hockley Woods, one of the oldest wild cherry woodlands in the country, is accessible from the northern edges. It is peaceful to the point of being sleepy.
