Hertford Kingsmead

Kingsmead is the area to the south and west of the town centre, running along the Lea valley. The housing is more mixed than Bengeo, with a good number of postwar council-built homes alongside some newer developments near the river. Hertford East station is on this side, handy for the Liverpool Street line. It is less polished than the north side of town but perfectly functional and more affordable. The Lea towpath provides a green corridor through the area.
