Houghton Regis East

The eastern side of Houghton Regis includes the older village centre around the church and the green, which still has a trace of the original settlement if you squint. Beyond that it is mostly post-war housing estates, a lot of it ex-council. Parkside Drive and the surrounding streets are typical. There is a Tesco Extra nearby and easy access to the A5120 towards Dunstable. The Ouzel Valley Park runs along the eastern edge and is a decent green corridor for walks. It is straightforward and unpretentious, the kind of place where people live because it works for the budget rather than because they fell for the area.
