Brentford has been transformed in recent years by waterside development along the Thames. The old industrial sites have given way to apartment complexes with river views. The eastern part, around the dock and the Kew Bridge area, has some genuinely attractive new developments. The high street has improved with the regeneration. Brentford station provides connections to Waterloo. The mixing of old industrial, new build, and period housing creates an area that still feels like it's finding its identity.
