Poets' Corner is one of Hove's nicest residential pockets. Streets named after poets (Tennyson, Shelley, Byron) with well-kept Edwardian and Victorian houses, many of them still family-sized rather than converted into flats. Westbourne stretches down towards the seafront and shares the same comfortable, settled character. Richardson Road and the surrounding streets are popular with families who want a quiet road and a walk to the beach. It's not flashy, just well-kept and residential with a strong sense of people putting down roots.
