This covers the countryside around Hythe, including villages like Saltwood and Lympne. Saltwood is the pick of them, a proper village with a castle, a church, and large houses on quiet lanes. Lympne sits up on the escarpment with views across Romney Marsh and has the Port Lympne wildlife park nearby. Housing is mostly detached, with a real mix of period properties and larger modern homes. You are car dependent for everything, though Hythe town is only a few minutes' drive. It feels genuinely rural while being close to the M20 corridor.
