Ivinghoe is a proper Chiltern foothills village with a medieval church, a village green, and a scattering of period cottages alongside newer stuff. Ivinghoe Beacon sits just above the village, the northern end of the Ridgeway, so you get walkers and trail runners at weekends. The ward covers a lot of ground, pulling in Pitstone (which has its own primary school and a windmill that English Heritage looks after), Marsworth by the Grand Union Canal, and a handful of smaller hamlets. Cheddington is the nearest station and the commute into Euston is over an hour, so this is not somewhere you move for the train. People live here because they want space, countryside on the doorstep, and a quiet life. There is no real high street to speak of, just a village hall, a church, and a pub or two.
