Vauxhall & South Bank

Vauxhall has been one of London's most dramatically transformed areas. What was once a traffic gyratory system surrounded by council estates and gay bars is now a cluster of high-rise apartment buildings, the American Embassy, and a riverside walkway that connects to the South Bank. The South Bank itself is London's cultural corridor, with the National Theatre, Tate Modern, and the Southbank Centre. Housing is overwhelmingly new-build apartments, many of them expensive towers with river views. It's busy, loud, and urban. You don't move here for quiet.
