Belfairs sits on the northern, hillier side of Leigh, bordering Hadleigh and the A13. The big draw is Belfairs Wood and the golf course, which give this part of town a greener, more spacious feel than the streets closer to the seafront. Housing is mostly 1930s semis and detached houses with decent-sized gardens, the kind of stock that families want. Eastwood Road has a small parade of shops but most people drive to the retail parks on the A127 or head down to the Broadway. Belfairs Academy is the secondary school up here. It's quieter and more suburban than central Leigh, which is exactly the point for most people who buy here.
