Luton town centre has been through several incarnations and the regeneration has not fully landed yet. The new St Marys Gate development brought new restaurants and flats, but the wider centre still has rough edges with plenty of vacant units and a somewhat desolate atmosphere after dark. The Hat Factory arts venue and the market are holdovers worth caring about, but you would want to choose your timing wisely.
