High Town

High Town is Lutons most genuine urban neighbourhood and has absorbed a lot of the towns regeneration energy in recent years. The old textile mills have been converted into flats and there is a growing cluster of independent cafes and bars that would not look out of place in a smaller city. The contrast between the handsome period buildings and the rawer edges is part of its appeal. It attracts people who want actual city life rather than suburbia.
