Shepway is a well-regarded residential area on the western side of Maidstone with a good local school and streets that feel settled and established. It's popular with families who want more space than the town centre offers without making the jump to somewhere like Bearsted or Addington. Property tends to be semidetached and terraced houses from the mid-century period, well kept by owners who've been there a while. The local high street element is minimal but the nearby Park Wood retail park handles most practical needs.
