West Ham sits between Stratford and Plaistow, with its own station on the Jubilee and District lines plus the DLR. Memorial Recreation Ground and West Ham Park (which is actually run by the City of London Corporation) provide good green space. The housing is a patchwork of Victorian terraces, council estates, and some newer bits around the edges. It has an old East End feel in places. The proximity to Stratford means it benefits from the transport links without the tower block density. It is more residential and settled than the Stratford side.
