Theale

Theale is a large village on the A4 west of Reading that has grown substantially with new housing estates, particularly around the southern end. The old high street has a few shops, a Co-op, pubs, and takeaways, enough for basics. Theale station is on the main line into Reading and Paddington, which keeps property demand steady. The Kennet and Avon Canal runs through, giving it some waterside character that the A4 corridor otherwise lacks. Theale Green School is the local secondary. It is more affordable than Pangbourne and feels more suburban than village, but the commute links make it a practical choice for families working towards Reading or London.
