Buriton & East Meon

Two proper Hampshire villages south and east of Petersfield. Buriton sits right on the edge of the Downs with a duck pond, a pub, and a Norman church. East Meon is in a beautiful valley with the River Meon running through it and feels even more remote. Both are small, quiet, and rely on Petersfield for schools and shopping. The housing is a mix of period cottages and some newer rural infill, all priced at a premium because of the setting. You need a car for everything, but if rural South Downs living is what you want, this is the real thing.
