Petersham is genuinely rural-feeling for London. The Petersham Road runs between Richmond Hill and Ham with meadows on one side and the river on the other. The housing stock is eclectic, from grand Georgian properties to more modest cottages, and there's very little of it. Petersham Nurseries is a destination restaurant and garden centre that brings well-heeled visitors from across London. There's no station and buses are infrequent. St Peter's Church and the meadows give it a timeless quality. It's tiny, very expensive, and feels nothing like the rest of London.
