Shinfield

Shinfield has changed a lot in recent years. The old village around the church and School Green is pleasant enough, but the area is now dominated by large new-build estates that have sprung up around the edges. The University of Reading's Shinfield campus and the science park bring some employment locally. There is a small parade of shops but nothing that would save you a trip into Reading. The primary schools are well regarded and families are the main demographic in the newer developments. It feels suburban rather than rural despite the fields still being visible from some streets.
