CM9 8
Tollesbury sits right on the edge of the Dengie peninsula with direct access to the water and the Tollesbury Marshes, a wide open coastal landscape that is genuinely atmospheric. The village has a marina and a sailing club, and the whole place has a more prosperous, water-oriented feel than the inland villages. The marshes are beautiful in a stark, wide-open way, and the sailing community is active and established. Property prices here have risen noticeably over the past few years as people from London and Chelmsford discover the area, and the village has a slight up-and-coming edge that the other Dengie villages do not have. There is a decent pub or two and some independent shops, a more active social scene than you would expect for a village of this size.
