Tate Modern, the Globe, Borough Market just next door. This stretch of the South Bank has become a genuine destination over the past twenty years. Living here means modern flats, mostly in converted warehouses or new-build blocks. It is expensive and tourist-heavy during the day, but the side streets behind the main drag are surprisingly quiet in the evenings. Southwark and Blackfriars stations are both walkable. Not really a neighbourhood in the traditional sense, more a place young professionals and empty nesters choose for the location.
