The Southwark side of Herne Hill, east of the railway line. Brockwell Park is the big draw, one of the best parks in south London. The streets around here are classic south London Victoriana, with bay-fronted terraces on quiet residential roads. Herne Hill station has Thameslink services and the Sunday market under the railway arches has become a local institution. The Half Moon pub, the Lido in Brockwell Park, and the independent shops along Norwood Road and Half Moon Lane give it genuine local character. Popular with young families who got priced out of Brixton.
