St Michael's sits at the western end of the high street, around the parish church of St Mildred's and the older part of town. Some of the most attractive period properties in Tenterden are here, including weatherboarded and tile-hung houses along the high street itself. The Kent and East Sussex Railway station is at this end of town. It feels like the most characterful part of Tenterden, and property prices reflect that. Smallhythe Place, the National Trust property, is a short drive south.
