E14 9
Blackwall sits just north of the Blackwall Tunnel approach, squeezed between the A12 and the docks. It is dominated by big residential towers, many built in the 1990s and 2000s as part of the Docklands development. The Robin Hood Gardens estate was here until recently. The DLR at Blackwall is the main transport link. It feels more like a corridor than a neighbourhood, with heavy traffic and not much in the way of local shops or community spaces. People live here because it is close to Canary Wharf and relatively affordable for the postcode.
