E14 3
The southern half of the Isle of Dogs, looking across the river to Greenwich. William Cubitt developed it in the 1840s, and some of that original Victorian housing survives alongside large council estates like the Barkantine. There is a pleasant stretch along the riverfront with views of the O2. Mudchute Park and Farm is a genuine asset for families, a proper urban farm with animals and green space. The DLR runs through. It feels more residential and quieter than the Canary Wharf end of the island, and there is a small local community that predates all the Docklands development.
