Handside

Handside is the original heart of the garden city, covering the town centre and the streets immediately around it. This is where you get the classic WGC look: Arts and Crafts influenced houses, mature trees on every street, and that distinctive planned layout with curving roads and cul-de-sacs. The Howard Centre and John Lewis (now closed, but the building remains) are here. The Parkway is a proper tree-lined boulevard. Stanborough Park is within easy reach. It is the most recognisably "garden city" part of WGC and property reflects that. Families and older residents who have been here for decades.
