Haddenham is one of those Buckinghamshire villages that punches above its weight. A proper duck pond on the green, thatched cottages built with the local wychert walls, and a couple of decent pubs. The Thame Parkway station (technically in the parish) is on the Chiltern line and surprisingly quick into Marylebone, around 40 minutes, which is why house prices have crept up. There's been quite a lot of new building on the edges, estates that look nothing like the old village core but have brought younger families in. The village shop, primary school, and community feel are all strong. It manages to be genuinely rural while still being practical for London commuting.
