HP22 6
Wendover has a proper high street with independent shops, a few good pubs, and enough day-to-day usefulness that you don't have to drive to Aylesbury for everything. The town sits right where the Chilterns escarpment starts climbing, so the walks from your doorstep are genuinely impressive. Coombe Hill and the Ridgeway are both within easy reach. Housing in the old centre is period cottages and Georgian fronts, with newer estates filling in around the edges. The Chiltern line station gets you to Marylebone in about 50 minutes. RAF Halton is just up the road and has historically shaped the community, though the base is being redeveloped into housing. It's a notch less polished than Great Missenden or Amersham but more affordable, and locals tend to be quite loyal to it.
