Marylebone High Street is one of London's best shopping streets. Independent boutiques, Daunt Books, the farmers' market on Sundays, good restaurants. The residential streets behind it are handsome Georgian and Victorian townhouses, plus mansion flats on the larger roads. Harley Street and its medical practices dominate the eastern side. Baker Street tube is the main station, with Marylebone mainline for trains to the Chilterns. Regent's Park is a few minutes' walk north. It's expensive and a bit sanitised, but the High Street gives it genuine daily life. Families and professionals who can afford W1 prices find it hard to leave.
