Pimlico is a grid of white stucco terraces south of Victoria station, and the northern end is closest to the action. The streets are wide and quiet considering how central you are. Pimlico tube (Victoria line) and Victoria mainline are both close. The Tate Britain sits at the southern edge on Millbank. Housing is a mix of private mansion flats and council estates, notably the large Lillington Gardens estate which won architectural awards in the 1960s. Warwick Way and Tachbrook Street have a small run of independent shops and a street market. It's the sort of place that never quite becomes fashionable but remains solid and liveable.
