Eton & Castle

This is the postcard side of Windsor. The castle, Eton College across the bridge, the Long Walk stretching into the Great Park. The streets around the castle are full of tourists during the day but quiet in the evenings. Eton High Street has genuine independent shops, good restaurants, and feels like a separate village despite being a five-minute walk from Windsor centre. Housing here is limited and expensive. Period properties, some above shops, a few tucked-away mews. If you can afford it and do not mind the tourists, there is nowhere else quite like it in the commuter belt. Eton College dominates the Eton side in term time, boys in tailcoats on every corner.
