Blackwater straddles the Hampshire/Surrey border and feels like an extension of Camberley in many ways. The main asset is Blackwater station on the North Downs line, which gives you direct trains to Reading and Guildford. The housing is mostly 1970s and 80s estates, detached and semi-detached, the kind of stuff that looks the same in every commuter town along the A30 corridor. Hawley is quieter and more spread out with some newer builds. There is a retail park and a few chain restaurants but no real village centre to speak of. The Blackwater Valley path runs through, which is good for walks and cycling.
