The Gade Valley section covers the western edge of Abbots Langley running down towards the River Gade and the Grand Union Canal. Housing here is a mix of 1960s and 1970s estates with some newer infill. It is a quieter, more residential pocket without much in the way of its own shops or facilities, so people head into Abbots Langley village or down to Watford for anything beyond the basics. The canal towpath is popular for walks. It feels functional and family oriented rather than anything with a strong identity of its own.
