A Hertfordshire commuter village that still feels like a village. The high street has a proper run of shops, pubs, and a pharmacy, and the weekly market adds a bit of life. Housing is mostly interwar and postwar semis and detached houses, with some Victorian cottages near the old centre and newer builds around the edges. The station is on the fast line into Euston, which is the main draw for families who want space without losing the London connection. The canal towpath and Kings Langley Common are well used by dog walkers and runners. Kings Langley School is the local secondary and has a decent reputation. It is not flashy or particularly pretty, but it works well as a practical family base with good transport.
