Ashford Common is the southern part of Ashford, stretching down towards the Queen Mary Reservoir. Housing is mostly 1930s semis and some postwar stock, with a few newer infill developments. It's quiet and entirely residential, without any real centre of its own. The reservoirs are a dominant feature of the landscape, though you can't do much with them. Ashford station is walkable from the northern edge. Families settle here because the streets are calm and you get reasonable space for the money.
