Windlesham and Chobham

Windlesham and Chobham are the posh end of this group. Chobham has a proper village high street with a butcher, a bakery, a couple of nice pubs, and independent shops that actually get used. The village green hosts a fair and there's a real community feel. Large detached houses on generous plots are the norm, many behind hedges on quiet lanes. Windlesham is smaller and quieter still, with some seriously expensive properties tucked away. Both villages back onto Chobham Common, a huge National Nature Reserve of heathland that's stunning in summer. The trade-off is no rail station and total car dependency, but most people here have accepted that.
