Goldsworth Park is a purpose-built 1970s and 80s estate on the western side of Woking. It was built as a self-contained community around the lake, and it still functions that way. There's a small shopping centre with a Waitrose, a doctor's surgery, and a few other shops. The lake is the centrepiece, popular for walking and a bit of fishing. Housing is mostly detached and semi-detached, with some townhouses. It's a practical, family-oriented place with a strong community identity. The local Facebook groups are very active. Not glamorous, but people who live here tend to stay.
