Banbury Cross & Neithrop

This is the heart of Banbury. The Cross, the market square, the canal towpath, Castle Quay shopping centre, and most of the town's pubs and restaurants are here. Neithrop is the older residential area to the west, with Victorian terraces and some social housing that has been there since the town's industrial days. The town centre has had a lot of investment recently with the Castle Quay waterfront development. Housing near the centre is a mix of period terraces, conversions, and new canal-side flats. It's where the town's energy is, for better or worse.
