Cricklewood straddles Barnet, Brent and Camden, which means it falls through the cracks a bit. The Broadway is busy and congested, with a mix of Irish pubs, halal butchers, and betting shops that gives it a lived-in, unpretentious feel. Housing ranges from big Victorian terraces (some converted, some still houses) to ex-council blocks. Cricklewood station gives you Thameslink into the City and St Pancras, which is genuinely useful. It's one of those places that's been "about to be regenerated" for years. People who live here tend to like it more than people who drive through it.
