Fryerns

Fryerns is one of the original new town estates from the 1950s, south of the town centre. The housing is typical of that era: low-rise terraces and semis laid out along curving roads with plenty of green space between them. It has its own parade of shops and a community feel that some of the other Basildon estates lack. The Fryerns and Lee Chapel North schools serve the area. It is not going to win any beauty contests but it is functional, affordable, and people who grew up here tend to stay.
